Why do I care about submissions?
The Lantern distinguishes and welcomes
the internal and external process of being a coach, wherever
you are in that process. Your contribution to The Lantern is a service to
individuals and the broader coaching community.
For seasoned coaches and writers, this
is an opportunity to celebrate and claim a reward for your
hard-won experience and skill, and to express and share your
knowledge, success and expertise by offering readers the
benefit of your perspective. Your contribution provides an
opportunity for readers to deepen their learning in order to
forward their action.
For novice coaches, The Lantern is a vehicle for
acquiring answers, resources and connection with other coaches
to help you build success, closing the gap from where you are
to where you want to be.
Next
Issue:
September 11, 2007
Submission
Deadline:
August 20, 2007
September's
Theme:
Captivating Clients.
September's theme reflects the broad
range of coaching business topics expressed by survey
respondents as important. Respondents expressed interest in
identifying ideal clients, communicating effectively with
diverse client audiences, heart-to-heart enrollment, finding
leads, converting leads, and expressing a unique offer.
September's issue will focus on strengthening the client-coach
relationship at every juncture.
What to
submit:
Feature
articles.
With this month's theme in mind, submit a central article
750-850 words in length or a smaller article 250-400 words in
length. The Lantern will
publish one central feature article and one or two smaller
articles, giving readers an opportunity for different
perspectives within the same subject matter.
The Coaches'
Gym: The
Coaches' Gym is The Lantern's
forum for skill-building questions and your chance to ask "how
do I do this?" Specific to this issue's theme, what would you
like to accomplish? Your questions will be submitted to a
circle of PCC and MCC credentialed coaches who will respond
with tips, techniques and methods to move you
forward.
Ask the
Illuminator: Specific to this issue's theme,
what do you want to ask of a seasoned coach for guidance and
mentoring? Your questions will be submitted to a circle of PCC
and MCC credentialed coaches who will shed the light of their
insight, expertise and experience on your area of
concern.
General
Guidelines:
The
Lantern
asks for:
-
Crisp, succinct feature articles,
requests for skill-building tips, and thoughtful questions
for the mentors, all with a clear focus on the issue's
theme

the equinox/solstice.
So, think of it - this newsletter will offer you a
reminder of the upcoming change in seasons, AND bring
you 5 regular columns around a particular theme for the
issue!!
Our first issue will be focused on
"Captivating Clients", and the Feature Articles will offer a
number of ideas on diverse client audiences, expressing a
unique offer, identifying ideal clients, finding
leads and converting leads into clients.
We will focus on strengthening the client-coach
relationship at every juncture, and our Coaches' Gym will offer answers to
questions you submit, and provide specific skill building tips
around captivating clients. We will be providing
resources from MCC's and PCC's in the Academy community.
We look forward to having our readers Ask the Illuminator specific
questions that will be addressed by more MCC's and PCC's in
our community by providing three to five answers for each
question!
In addition, we'll be Lamplighters as an editorial
board sharing our thoughts on this captivating topic (pun

In the end, The Lantern will be informing,
illuminating, and inspiring for all those who choose it.
