be called to collaborate on this important community-building
resource.
We also invite you to complete a 5-minute

Enhanced Essentials
Course
In response to student feedback and request,
we are excited to share that the course, Essentials, will
include an additional day of training in order to bring
practical experience for the Business of Coaching to students
at the beginning of their certification process.
Effective with the July course schedule (Jul 11-14, 2007) the
course will begin on Wednesday at 2 PM and run through
Saturday at 6 PM.
The skill building will focus upon
both internal and external coaches. Student and
facilitators will address the topics of contracting with
clients, documentation and record keeping, financial
management and a host of structures and processes that will
generate more personal confidence as Coach.
PLEASE
NOTE: Students who took Essentials from January 1, 2007
to the May 31st class are welcome to attend on Saturday for
the Essentials courses scheduled in July, September or
November so that you can take advantage of this additional
skill building.
Marketing
& Branding
As business people you know the benefit and
importance of effective marketing for generating growth and
sustaining a healthy business. We are partnering with a
powerful resource for this purpose, the team at Strategies 360
in Seattle, WA.
Together, we are creating an on-line survey
that will be sent to all of you. Our intention with the
survey is learning. We wish to learn from you about
your businesses, desires for future skill development,
interests in community and professional expansion and how the
Academy may best support your success. Please watch for
this survey to arrive in your email in box. And, thank you in
advance for sharing your wisdom with us!
ACC
Credential Process
We regularly monitor the ICF website for
updates and changes and encourage you to do the same.
Upon completion of your Academy Certified Professional Coach
training you are in an excellent position to move directly
towards the application for your ACC credential through
the ICF. And, two important clarifications were recently
updated on the site that we want students and graduates alike
to know as well as clarification in requesting letters of
reference to accompany your ICF application.
- If you work as a coach inside an
organization, please know that coaching hours
with individuals that are in a direct
reporting relationship to you are not eligible for the
coaching log.
- If you include pro-bono coaching in your
business, please know that no more than 25 out of the 100
required for the ACC level credential may be unpaid hours.
- You will need two reference letters from
ICF credentialed coaches to complete your ACC
application.
The very best time to ask for those
letters is from your Oral Examiners, within 15-30 days
following your Oral exam when their experience of and
insight into your mastery as a coach is the most
current.
